The corona virus shocked and seriously disturbed everyone including the educational institutions. The autonomous, undergraduate-dominated, national, and primarily-residential institutions – including IITs, IIITs, NITs, etc. – had to necessarily close down the hostels and send their students home to all parts of the country. Fortunately, most including IIIT Hyderabad could send the students back safely in the middle of March when the alarm of transmission was low enough. Dr. Shatrunjay Rawat has been appointed as a member of the online courses committee. NIT Warangal proposes to offer all courses through online mode during the Coronavirus pandemic. They are looking at several alternatives like developing their own platform, adopting open source platforms like Moocs / commercial platforms like TCSion or any such platforms. The committee will discuss requirements and specifications of a good platform for offering courses online.
