Team Blue Bird comprising Aniket Chandekar, Anuj Malviya, Dhiraj Shanmukha, Shambhavi Ojha, Vinaya Gopi and Venkat Sai from M.Tech Product Design and Management and SERC qualified as top
20 teams globally out of 90+ teams that participated in the Student Service Design Challenge 2023, an international competition that encourages students to design services that promote both personal well-being and collective happiness. The competition was sponsored by Philips in collaboration with the Service Design College, and was supported by IBM, IKEA and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
Dr. Raman Saxena and Dr. Nimmi Rangaswamy provided guidance to the team, with continuous support from Dr. Raghu Babu Reddy Y in Round 1. The challenge lasted for 8 months, and the team will advance to further rounds where they will be mentored by seasoned experimental designers, service designers and design thinking coaches along with design leads from the organizing committee. The team will work together with their mentors to create service blueprints and MVPs or MVSs as deliverables for further rounds of the competition.
