Talk on Sustainable Data-intensive Software systems: Through the lens of Architecture-based Self-adaptation at the Software Engineering Research in India (SERI)
update meeting 2023, held at Goa University Campus from 2 – 3 June. The talk was well received and attracted good discussion. In addition, Karthik also contributed to the meet by serving as a session chair and as part of the program committee.
This year, the SERI meeting, which is held annually, had over 80 attendees. It included Ph.D students, researchers, faculty, and industry practitioners from all across the country. These gatherings serve as an informal platform aimed at fostering connection and collaboration among those involved in software engineering, allowing them to share and discuss the latest developments in their fields of interest. Dr. Raghu Reddy and Dr. Sridhar Chimalakonda from IIT Tirupati served as the organisation chairs of SERI 2023.
Talk on In the realm of Microservices: data-driven adaptation, sustainability and beyond as part of Infosys TechCohere Speaker Series 2023 (theme: API and Microservices) on 23 June that was attended by over 90 Infosys architects, technologists, consultants and managers. His talk covered the various challenges that exist in architecting microservice based systems and how data-driven self-adaptation powered by machine learning can pave the way forward for handling such challenges. The talk emphasised on how adaptation can enhance the sustainability of microservice-based systems. The talk was well received stirring up considerable interest among the practitioner community and underscoring the significance of sustainability in the microservices landscape
