Dr. Nimmi Rangaswamy gave a guest lecture on Anthropological Forays into Digital Leisure: Studies of Digital Platforms from India at the University of Exeter, on 5 November.

Her talk  on Anthropological Forays into Digital Leisure: Studies of Digital Platforms from India was about the acts of digital leisure that arise at the intersection of technology design, local cultural practices and user behaviours. These have long produced diverse outcomes, from fostering global cultural engagement to enabling localised indulgence and even harmful behaviours.  Drawing from ethnographic research with Indian youth, the talk presented vignettes exploring their experiences with video gaming, dating platforms, and fantasy sports.
