World Cancer Day is celebrated every year on 4 February all over the world to commemorate all the efforts done by WHO, United Nations and health organizations. In keeping with the trend the oncology medical team from Continental Hospital gave a talk on cancer awareness, prevention, early detection, cure, and palliation on 19 February. followed by an interactive question and answer session.
Every year it’s celebrated using a particular theme to make the event more result-oriented among people. The theme for World Cancer Day 2020 was I Am and I Will. The World Cancer Day event was founded to fulfill all the needs to fight and control cancer especially creating awareness among people, teaching them about healthy diet, regular and proper physical activity and protection from environmental carcinogens and chronic infections. People are also educated on early detection of symptoms in order to detect the disease at its early stages as research have shown that early detection leads to cure and increased overall survival.
