IIITH celebrated India’s 74th Republic Day on 26 January at the institute football ground. Celebrations began with a march past by students and security guards, after which Prof. P J Narayanan hoisted the national flag with the entire football ground reverberating with the national anthem. This was followed by the Director’s address; Oath taking by new parliament members representing UG-1, PG-2 & UG-3; Republic day speech by Poorvi, Cultural Council member; cultural programmes by students, faculty and campus kids. The cultural programs had a song by Haala Abbas, dance performance by the dance crew, music performance by music team – Alimpan Modak (Flute), Hariharan (Mrudangam), Soham (Keyboard), Sanya Gandhi (Vocal) and Radheshyam (Vocal). Mr. Prabhakar M, Students Life Office (SLC) presented the Republic day speech and Poorvi, vote of thanks. The celebrations concluded with distribution of refreshments to all present on the occasion.
