I-Hub, IIIT Hyderabad, was invited as one of the presenters at the 31st Convergence Expo, recognized among the 25 Incubation Hubs in India. It was supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), who provided a dedicated stall.

With the support from I-HUB DATA, IIITH, the event provided an ideal platform for Smart City Living Lab in connecting with prospective clients and technology leaders.

The Smart City Living Lab presented the Living Lab Model, featuring innovative solutions addressing smart city challenges. The exhibition showcased IoT devices monitoring water quantity, outdoor air quality, Wi-SUN deployment in the IIIT Hyderabad campus, occupancy monitoring, and water level nodes. They also presented the City IoT Operations Platform (ctOP), a configurable lightweight platform, based on the oneM2M standard to enable smart cities to onboard their sensors with ease for enhanced interoperability as per standards in smart city setups which also empowers cities with real-time data analytics, visualization etc.

The IIIT Hyderabad stall drew positive attention, with visitors surprised to learn that showcased devices were actively deployed within the IIIT Hyderabad campus. With a total deployment of 300+ Nodes across different verticals like Air Quality, Water Quality, Energy Monitoring, EV- Charging, and Smart Street Lamps. The Water Quality Node and Wi-SUN Node gained significant attention, sparking interest in their future and potential city-scale deployments. Delegates from foreign countries expressed appreciation for Smart City Living Lab’s progress. Industry leaders, government officials, and fellow innovators felt a positive sense of satisfaction as they observed and appreciated the impressive progress of the Smart City Living Lab.

IIIT Hyderabad’s participation at the 31st Convergence India Expo was marked by the successful presentation of cutting-edge projects and innovations, affirming the institute’s commitment to technological advancements and smart city solutions. 

The 31st Convergence India Expo co-located with the 9th Smart Cities India Expo, is the premier technology event in India, bringing together various sectors through the convergence of technologies. The expo focuses on new-age technologies and innovative solutions, attracting professionals, digital innovators, international businesses, and leaders from industries such as IT, ICT, Broadcast, IoT, Fintech, and Embedded Technology. Anticipating over 55,000 industry visitors, 1,200 brands, and participants from over 40 countries, it presents an ideal opportunity to connect with prospective clients and technology leaders.
