The following faculty members have been promoted:

• Prof. Kishore Kothapalli, Center for Security, Theory and Algorithms (CSTAR) has been promoted as a Professor. His research areas are  multicore and many core algorithms, distributed algorithms.
• Prof. K S Rajan, Lab for Spatial Informatics (LSI), Earthquake Engineering Research Center (EERC), Center for Open Software (COS)  has been promoted as a Professor. His research areas are application of GIS and remote sensing to sustainable environmental issues.
• Dr. Anil Kumar Vuppala, Signal Processing and Communication Research Center (SPCRC) and Language Technologies Research Center (LTRC) has been promoted as an  Associate Professor. His research areas are speech recognition, speaker recognition, language identification, speech processing in emotion conditions, pathological speech processing and speech to speech machine translation.
• Dr. Indranil Chakrabarty, Center for Security, Theory and Algorithms (CSTAR) has been promoted as an Associate Professor. His research areas are quantum information (relativistic and non- relativistic), fisher information.
