Campus Services & Beautification Committee (CSBC) and NSS at IIITH organized Haritha Haram – Tree Plantation Drive on 6 and 10 August near E – Block, new quarters. Nearly 400 trees were planted. The 10 August plantation drive was intended mainly for the students. 

Although IIITH is a green campus, such tree plantation drives are important to increase the green cover as well as the tree to human ratio on the campus.  The abundant green cover improves the quality of life on campus by providing oxygen, improved air quality, climate amelioration, water conservation, and soil preservation. It also creates natural habitats for many migratory birds, squirrels, insects, and creatures to maintain a balanced ecosystem.
