National Workshop on Quantum Information and Information Security (NWQIIS) was hosted by IIIT-Hyderabad from 5 – 11 October. The workshop aimed to have a collaborative meeting on quantum information processing and information security where contemporary themes including Quantum Information, Quantum Entanglement, Quantum Key Generation, Secret Sharing, Cryptography and Information Security were covered.

Over the last two decades quantum information and modern cryptography have made a significant contribution to the field of information security and provided solutions which will make information theft and hacking very difficult. This area, called,  quantum-safe cryptography is aimed to protect data from an eavesdropper having access to a quantum computer.
